Let’s talk aging

It is unbelievable that I am 52, yep and as we age a whole lotta shit changes. First, skin, good lord I took a selfie a few days ago and wholly pores. When exactly did my skin look like sand paper. Facial hair and brows: facial hair has multiplied, the fu man chu ugh no not cute and everyday I am tweezing some long ass black course hair, what the hell… my eyebrows are nothing, one has some hair the other has a serious lack. Last, the night sweats are out of control, not only do you not sleep but when you do just get a frickin towel to lay on or you might wake up thinking you have been swimming.

If I can fix it, I will. Here are my brows micro bladed day 1. Don’t panic in 2 weeks they will be half this color and thickness. Breathe they will be beautiful. Next week is lip blushing, will let you all in on that too

For the love of wallpaper

I love color, print, and home improvement projects. I had previously tried to update these old closet doors and needless to say it wasn’t good. Last week while shopping at my very favorite store “goodwill” I found this fantastic animal print wallpaper for 6 bucks a roll. I bought both rolls and came home to get busy. It took me 2 full days of scoring and scraping to get the old ugly wall paper off but now the doors are FANTASTIC, no one can say I’m boring. My decorating style is certainly bold. I hope you like it.

My son is home and for the first time in a year I have exhaled. The book I wrote to not go crazy on this wild journey of my son’s addiction and incarceration is available this Thursday, September 12th on Kindle and Amazon. My hope is that anyone who reads it will know they are not alone and that I can provide some laughter and hope along the way.

Lets talk lashes

My best friend is the beauty guru and her lashes are amazing. I have gone and had lash extensions that made me crazy because I felt like I couldn’t wash my face, my issue but I have to wash off mascara.

So a few weeks ago my girl brought over lashes and schooled me on how to put them in easily. Ha right this is a lie, big fat lie. She showed me in like 5 minutes just glue, place, etc. I was going to a party, it took me 5 tries, a tube of glue and a whole lot of laughing but got them on.

I’m sure this is easy if you put lashes on daily but for me this was hilarious and difficult. I love them but good lord help me….

Brow adventures

let’s just be honest as we age our eye brows become sparse or for me pretty much non existent. I decided to go visit my bff’s brow lady this week, here is day 1. They are beautiful but dark, just the first step to the end goal. My husband said Burt from Sesame Street ha. I will post weekly progress but I’m juiced to see the final results.

Ok today was brow touch up, so beautiful

They are always DARK on day 1 but final will be Fantastic

The Yard Work Battle

First let me state how grateful I am to be a home owner.

  • I love the fact that I have a large space to keep me busy and that I can close the door and have no one bother me
  • no upstairs or downstairs neighbors
  • no home owners association (the very best thing)
  • no one complaining if my music is up to loud (I’m old so this doesn’t happen often) ha
  • ample parking

The yard work however is never ending. Yesterday after putting in a full day at the office, I came home to a truckload bark in bags. They are of course on sale this week so my husband thought it was a great idea to pick up as many as his truck would hold.

I am now the official “bark spreader”, (yep my title).

Those bags aren’t going to unload themselves and need to be carried to the back of the house for distribution in the new flower beds.

  • 18 bags later and today my elbows are sore
  • I have never heard of sore elbows, is that real?

The photos show my progress.

Wow December

changes
I cannot believe that it is almost Christmas and for the first time in 20 years we are not in Idaho and my mom and dad won’t be at my house for dinner. It has certainly been a year of huge changes which you know if you follow my blog. My oldest is getting ready to start a new job that will actually allow him to live and pay his bills, my youngest is home for break from college and turns 21 this month wow do I feel old☺️. The job has worked out fantastic and they are trying to convert me from a contractor to a permanent employee. That would be a major relief because of the whole insurance considerations and being able to begin looking for areas we might be interested in buying next year. We did lease our house out for a year so that is great but will mean I need to take a trip back next year and see the condition of the house once we are ready to list the house again. Let’s hope these people aren’t hoarders, ha. This year Xmas will be quiet with stockings, new Jammie’s, but no wrapped gifts. The best thing about Xmas are the smells, songs and being with family I am truly grateful. I can hardly wait to see what the new year brings..
